Mowing the Lawn
I know a secret. My Swiss Mister thinks he’s so smart. He makes it seem like it’s a big deal and oh so lame to cut the lawn. I know his secret because I volunteered to cut the lawn for the very first time today. Ever. I’ve never cut the lawn at this house. We’ve been here for 4 years now. I do the stuff inside – that’s my job. He makes it seem like it’s the worst thing in the world but I know what he’s up to. He likes to be alone with his thoughts and the fresh smell of cut grass. Mmmmmmmm….
Did I do it to get away from the wee babe’s fussiness? Maybe a little. Was it a beautiful day outside? Definitely. Did I want my hubby to spend some time with the beauty? Absolutely!
Man was it good. But I needed a little help to get the mower going. (My flabby arms couldn’t pull the string fast and hard enough) After that, I was on a mission. Yeah I did it wrong according to my hubby and I didn’t hesitate to threaten to never do it again if he continued to criticize. According to him, the grass was getting stuck in the shoot to the bag and I was leaving grass all over the lawn. Oh well. You want it done perfectly you do it yourself – oh wait a sec, you want to!!
I was content just making a cool pattern in the lawn and it wasn’t a golf course after all.
So next time you feel like you want to get outside, get productive and if you’re like me and love the smell of freshly cut grass, mow your lawn! It’s therapy for the soul.
