Trying something new: a Podcast

I’ve been thinking about how I could capture the wee babes cute sounds and then post to the blog. For privacy reasons, I’m just not ready to post video of her (even though I’ve posted a couple of photos throughout the site) or my tweenager but audio doesn’t seem to bother me.

If a video blog is called a vlog then shouldn’t a podcast blog be called a plog?

Anyway, I’m trying something new, I’m using the Cincopa Rich Media Plugin with allows you to create galleries of photos, music, podcasts and video. In order to get the podcast happening, I needed to download software that would record my voice, Audacity, and then an mp3 converter. All the information was on this page. It was quite simple to figure out after I did some research with the babe on my hip. (I first turned to the App Store and downloaded 2 free voice recording apps but neither worked well as they saved in formats that weren’t compatible.)

Without further adieu, here is the wee babe’s first plog.

Warning: this could be giggle forming.

Consonants

My wee babe just change a little bit yesterday.

And Oh Ma Gawd, it’s too cute. After a much anticipated wait. She’s finally added consonants to her repertoire and it’s is almost the most adorable things she done yet I think.

When she started “talking” that was so precious. The adorable “oooohhhh’s” and “ahhhhhh’s” were heart melting.

The way she chatted to herself when she would play with her toes…

And then yesterday. I wasn’t sure if she had just found a new way to blow bubbles or maybe it was faster way to get the drool out.

But the way she formed her lips and toungue. You could tell she was trying really hard to make them all work together at once.

Then this morning happened and it was solidified. She had just reached another melt-your-heart milestone.

She laid in bed after waking up at 6am and just talked to herself. Consonants and vowels a plenty.

Can I just tell you how amazing it is to wake up to a baby babbling to herself? What a calm, beautiful, non-stressing arousal. And then my Swiss mister grabbed her to change her diaper and I could hear her talking all the while he was with her.

It won’t be long until she’s talking my ear off, telling me all about what happened at school.

But for now, I’m thrilled that she has just achieved her next baby step and I was right there to witness it. :)
